To survive in the dangerous world of Auri you'll have to brave its dangers. Character progression is tied to exploration. You don't gain experience through usual ways, you need to find teachers to learn new abilities. And that means venturing into the world!

One of the coolest mechanics in Outward is definitely the magic system. To even be able to cast spells you need to earn this right by visiting a very dangerous unsettling place. Then toy can learn new spells and combine them in interesting and often spectacular combos that will make you feel truly powerful. Especially since you have to earn it and sacrifice something along the way.
